At Coastal Nutrition Counseling, we accept both local and national insurance plans. We try to verify your nutrition counseling benefits before meeting with you. Most health insurance plans cover nutrition counseling at no cost to patients. If your insurance plan is not listed below, we can provide you with our out-of-network rates.

Blue Cross Blue Shield
We are in-network with almost all Blue Cross Blue Shield Plans (state-specific, local, national, and federal).
Most plans do not limit visits in a calendar year. You need medical necessity for us to bill this plan.
United Healthcare and NYSHIP (The Empire Plan)
United Healthcare and NYSHIP cover medical nutrition therapy for most diagnoses with no visit limitation.
Oxford
Oxford covers medical nutrition therapy for most diagnoses. Oxford does not cover general counseling, but we can help you determine if you meet the right criteria to use your nutrition counseling benefits.
Cigna
Cigna covers nutrition counseling as a preventative care benefit with medical necessity.
You may have unlimited visits.
Meritain
We are in-network with almost all Meritain plans. Meritain covers nutrition counseling with medical necessity
as a preventative care benefit and may allow up to 26 visits in a calendar year.
Northwell Direct
We are in-network with almost all Northwell Direct plans. Northwell Direct covers nutrition counseling for 4 visits.
If you have diabetes, obesity, or an eating disoder, you may have unlimited visits.
